Törggelen and autumnal
walks in and around Brixen
A triumph of fiery red, golden yellow and rich green: autumn really brings out the most spectacular side of the local vineyards and woodland! It’s a wonderful time of year, and not just because of nature’s colours: it’s the time when we harvest our grapes and fruit, and it’s also Törggelen season, here in Brixen!
Where Törggelen originated
The Eisacktal valley is a land of chestnut groves and lush vineyards… so it won’t come as a surprise that it’s also the place of origin of Törggelen, one of South Tyrol’s most beloved traditions. This custom involves taking a pleasant walk through the vineyards, followed by a stopover at local taverns for a tasty meal of seasonal specialities.
